ZOWIE GEAR, known worldwide for its development of competitive gaming equipment with legendary gamers such as Abdisamad ‘SpawN’ Mohamed and Emil ‘HeatoN’ Christensen, announced today the employment of another legendary gamer.

ZOWIE GEAR has signed with the experienced Chinese Counter-Strike player Zhengwei “alex” Bian, who is known and respected across the world for his talent in the game. Zhengwei has been hired as a Marketing Coordinator with focus on the China-region, where he will focus his efforts on supporting the growth of e-Sports in China through support and sponsorships by ZOWIE GEAR.

Alex had his international breakthrough in 2005, where he won the Most Valuable Player award at ESWC. Alex was the first player ever to win this award without reaching the finals. 2005 was also the year where he won his first international tournament in Counter-Strike, the WEG.

In 2006 alex took his second championship, the WEG Master. Alex has done for Chinese and Asian Counter-Strike, what SpawN and HeatoN has done for Counter-Strike around the world; he has made changes to the scene that has helped lift the game to a higher level, and no one dares to imagine how CS in China would be without alex.

Alex is widely respected for his tactical knowledge and ability to read games, making him the best in-game leader of China.

Alex didn’t give up playing competitively until he reached the age of 28, which explains a bit about his dedication to the game. His mentality to never give up and the love of the challenge in the game have kept him going for so long. He feels it is now time to move on to a build a career within ZOWIE GEAR, where he wants to focus his efforts on support to e-Sport teams and communities in China.
